Importance of having Apple Ecosystem at Institution

Why Apple Ecosystems at institution

Role of Apple Ecosystem

  • You store some information on your Mac and you can access it on your other devices via iCloud.
  • You use your Watch for notifications from your iPhone, and to send messages, make phone calls, and more.
  • Your iPad is an extension of all that, somewhere in between the iPhone and the Mac, giving you access to all the same information.
  • You send and receive emails and messages on all these devices, you can view and work on the same documents on three of them, and you can use the same apps on some of them.
  • You can even copy something on one of these devices and access it immediately on another.
  • Unlike Google—which offers (mostly) free services, in exchange for your data—Apple does not monetize your personal information.
  • Software such as iCloud, airplay, airdrop, and continuity allows us to start a task on one device and continue it on another.
  • The walled garden of privacy and security, a place where technology gadgets work well together to help improve your life.

Gap Evaluation

A gap analysis is process that compares actual performance or results with what was expected or desired. The method provides a way to identify suboptimal or missing strategies, structures, capabilities, processes, practices, technologies or skills, and then recommends steps that will help the company meet its goals.

Under the Gap evaluation the hardware, software and teaching skill details are analysed by Creative professionals and a Gap report is prepared. The Gap report  contains all necessary information which would allow the institution plan the necessary budget and team to fund the project.

  • We analyze your current state where your organisation currently is and where you would like to be. this includes software, hardware and skills gap.
  • Based on the data and the analysis we identify the current state of your organisation against the leadership vision.
  • Our training and consultation will be customised to bridge the gaps found during analyse and identify stage. The solution is approached using a three year plan.

iPad Lab for the Institution

The iPad can be a huge boon to the active college student. Providing both educational and social capabilities in a sleek, easy-to-transport and easy-to-use device, the iPad can become a tool for college success. The advantages of using an iPad as a college student stem from the device’s usefulness, portability, security and communication capabilities.

The iPad is perfect for the always-on-the-go lifestyle of a college student. According to the Apple website for the iPad, the device is lightweight, at 1.44 pounds, and fits easily in a purse or backpack, at about 10 by 7 inches. It has a battery life lasting for up to 10 hours of constant Wifi video streaming and a standby battery life of up to 30 days, beating many laptop or notebook computers and most smartphones as well.

With automatic backup to the Cloud, anything stored on the iPad can be saved on Apple’s network and can be accessed from any computer or mobile device with Internet connection. That means that data loss is not a worry; all those invaluable class notes and papers you typed will be saved and accessible online. Additionally, if your iPad is lost or stolen, the app Find My iPad uses the GPS built into the device to locate it for you, making it a more secure choice than laptops or notebooks without this capability.

Besides capabilities for social networking and email, the iPad has both front and back cameras for video chatting and sharing documents and pictures. The iPad can snap a photo of a document, convert it to a PDF and email it faster than your campus copy shop ever could. Besides all the help an iPad can give you for academic pursuits, social connections can be strengthened with the help of the iPad, especially for students who are away from loved ones for college.

Rather than carry around heavy, expensive textbooks, college students can download the books to read on the iPad. Rather than carry notebooks and pen and paper, users can type directly onto the iPad’s screen. Art students can generate hand-drawn work on the iPad, while business students can process spreadsheets on the device and all students can create word processing documents and slide presentations with ease. Email, messaging, social media, photo-sharing, calendars, to-do lists and Web surfing can all be located on one iPad.

Mac Lab for the Institution

There are many reasons why K12 students use Mac’s and one actually has nothing to do with K12. That reason, has to do with the fact that in general amongst the population Mac’s are a popular laptop. If it’s a popular laptop then that trickles down to K12 as well and explains why so many students have Mac’s, because they already had it prior to being in college or had one before at one point and prefer it.

The second reason it is very popular has to do with the laptop itself and some of the things that make it more optimal.

  • Build quality
  • Size
  • Appearance
  • Usability

In K12 this is ideal as you can carry it around easily in a backpack and since it’s thin it’s also very light, so it won’t hurt your back or be a burden. It’s size is also optimal since like many other makes it offers smaller options to fit nicely in bags or on desks. In appearance the laptop is casual but appropriate for business and elegant while being simple—that’s where Apple really hit the spot. You wouldn’t want to use that Alienware 17 inch laptop with RGB lights distracting people or for use in a professional setting. Plus, it’s Apple and in general their OS has a good reputation favored by many.

But the biggest problem with laptops is “notebooks” and in the market there aren’t a whole lot of notebooks that offer these things. The notebooks I can’t think of besides the Macbook are: Razer Blade, MSI G75, LG Gram, Microsoft Surface, HP Spectre, Dell XPS, Lenovo Carbon X15, and maybe even the Microsoft Go.

Two of these are gaming laptops, two don’t have a dedicated keyboard, one is flashy, and the rest can be passable so that leaves Apple in a good place amongst the market and demographic of K12 students. Sure you can get a chrome book or cheaper laptop, but in notebooks it’s only comparable to a few. Personally I’d choose the Razer Blade but for those who don’t like Windows or the aesthetic/price you can definitely see why others would choose otherwise.

By using Apple TV to mirror iPad in the classroom,Teachers/Students present directly from iPad. Better yet, if you have a 1:1 iPad classroom like my Tap Into Teen Minds paperless classroom, students can use the Apple TV to mirror their iPads for the rest of the class to see as well! As they use Apple TV’s mirroring functionality more and more to allow students to share their work and explain their concepts,

With Apple TV, students are constantly sharing their answers while classmates offer constructive criticism to help them bump their answers up to the next level. With students continually sharing answers, we save time “taking up” questions, and have more time to allow multiple students share different approaches to solving the problem. It is like completing an activity throughout each class in a more digital, time saving manner.

Campus Area Network was shortly called the CAN. any area that presented at a limited distance is called the campus. The Providing of the network at a particular location is called a Campus Area Network. Now How the Campus Area Network is get connected? We cannot connect through Wi-Fi. The Campus area network is considered as more than the local area network, it is the collection of multiple buildings or houses at a particular within the particular area.

Several Local area networks can be connected through a switch or a router that connects through the single network area. The Campus area network has a maximum length of 40 meters.
Many educational institutions, campus universities, and all corporate and office buildings have come under the campus area network.
Let us take the college/School campus example in detail, for a university campus or school campus, in order to maintain the information between all the departments, the whole campus is connected through the Internet.

How Classroom setup helps in redefined teaching

  • Prepare your school to get up and running.
  • Integrate with your school’s existing systems.
  • Build an individualised experience for students and staff.
  • Privacy is Maintained.
  • Devices are ready to use as the classroom is already setup with the Apple devices.

Importance of Managing Users, Device and Content in an Institution

Effective user management can help organisations ensure that they are maintaining their user based license compliancy, and helps with the transparency of user-based licenses. It is important to ensure that user based licenses, like Office 365 or Adobe Creative Cloud, are used effectively and to their full potential.

User management can also help organisations save money on software licenses. For example, understanding how many devices a user has activated under their license will help the organisation to understand how many more instances or devices they can install the software on. So, with that in mind, if a user was to request a copy of Office 365 for a mobile device, as well as their laptop, desktop and phone, the organisation can identify that the user still has 2 out of their 5 activations remaining, thus no new license is required.

User management can also help organisations plan for future software budgets and identify where potential software spends will be in the future. Through effective user management, budget holders can identify which area’s (users) of the business will require certain licenses, and when. This will also allow the organisation to identify when users no longer require a certain piece of software, so that the license can be recycled or placed into a ‘licensing pool’.

User management can also help organisations be more proactive when it comes to the starts, movers and leavers’ process. By managing users effectively, organisations can ensure that there is minimal disruption to new users, movers within the organisation, and that a leavers device and software is reclaimed by IT, thus freeing up valuable ITAM assets.

Managing Devices through Mobile Device Management, or MDM, has become a business necessity nowadays. With so many mobile devices in the workplace, the IT department has to work hard to keep inventory current while managing and securing all mobile devices. Market researchers for mobile and handheld devices report that smartphone and tablet use is fast evolving, which makes it difficult for IT operations to keep up. This is where MDM software is useful.

MDM Software Features

The main feature of MDM software is its ability to integrate mobile devices into corporate structure via automation. Done by hand, this can be a tedious process that is riddled with errors. With an automated process, remote access makes it easy to secure, update, and manage multiple devices. MDM software includes modules for inventory, security, and software management, as well as policy enforcement and distribution. Policy enforcement is crucial in protecting valuable business information assets. This requires that all of the necessary policies are set and defined, including acceptable usage, encryption and data management policies, and access controls.

MDM software also provides companies with an added level of security because many come with virus scanning elements and filtering. It also tracks the acquisition of different software licenses and monitors which employees are using the licenses. This prevents overspending on additional, unnecessary software licenses, and it also keeps employees from downloading potentially harmful unlicensed software to both company and personal devices.

Employees can make things very difficult for the IT staff if they lose their mobile devices – especially if their personal devices contain sensitive company information. In these instances, the IT staff has a tough decision to make about whether or not to reset a personal device to factory default, thereby erasing all personal data as well. In the event of a device being stolen or lost, a standard MDM can reset the device to factory settings, thereby deleting any data on the device. A more complex and advanced remote-delete feature can take that a step further by targeting only business data and remotely erasing any sensitive business information without negatively impacting the employee’s personal data.

Speaking of the IT department, another huge benefit of an MDM system is that it is able to carry out some of the more time-consuming tasks, such as software updates, so the IT department is free to complete other, more complex tasks. This can greatly ease the load of IT personnel and save money by reducing the number of people needed to complete these tasks.

For an organization, content can be anything from an engineering white paper to a press release to even a post made by the company on social media. It is vital for an organization to understand the importance of content and take actions for ownership. It’s not only necessary to create content, but to use the content to improve your business. Organizations should think about staffing content managers to set the content strategy, own content calendars and management tools. All functions of marketing, inbound and traditional, should revolve around content management.

This structure will bring consistency and create accurate roles and responsibilities. This will allow the organization to quickly measure the results of their content. It is common to see incorrect messages especially within large organizations. Content managers can serve as the asset generators for marketing materials to employees and consumers. Their role can help add efficiency and improve communications through content order management.

Content and Customer Service

Customer service and quality managers are beginning to see a new trend in the way consumers cry for help. Social media is not only a way to communicate with friends and families but also a way for consumers to express their feelings about products, both good and bad. It is important for organizations to steer listening tools to pick up bad sentiment around their brands and products. This content can be picked up and fed through the quality department to capture any product issues. The organization must respond to users and thank them for making them aware of the issue. Whether the product or the consumer is at fault, the organization must make an effort to capture the feedback and reward the consumer for their feedback. These complaints or positive statements by the consumers should also be vetted through the content managers to be used for inspiration for future content creation.

It is difficult to manage the content through all functions of the organization, especially when there are other projects that take precedence. Organizations should place content managers in the position to develop solid marketing strategies, and apply processes that will be welcomed and used throughout all functions. Do not be surprised if a content management role pops us soon on your company’s career page!

Importance of Content filtering in an educational Institution

There are many incentives for teachers and administrators to use web filters in their schools, from the moral to the financial. Web filters help keep students on task and focused as learners, as well as keeping them safe.

Pros of internet censorship include:

  • Blocking student access to graphic content, including pornography and violent images
  • Keeping students from being distracted by entertainment and gaming sites
  • Cyberbullying prevention
  • Protecting students from predatory strangers online including scammers, hackers, and people who would mine personal information

The first thing to consider is to install internet filtering software. This will help in improving productivity. The website that might cause trouble and distraction must be jammed and this, in turn, enables them to work more and also enhance their productivity level. By using internet filters, students and employees work more.

Blocking content is very important it might be at school or any educational institution, it’s essential to keep kids away from content that is not suitable for them.

And this can be attained by using website filtering software to make sure that kids are visiting and checking only the right website and content. Blocking sites that are not suitable for kids is one of the biggest benefits of internet filtering.

Internet filters come with loads safety measure that makes sure that the space your children use is highly safe. With all those fraud activities and cybercrime taking place, it’s become more essential to protect your children from such predators out there on the web. Their predators are obvious in chat rooms, and social networking website where children might browse.

Downloading too much and uploading might need a lot of memory space on your system and might increase your bandwidth load. In such a case, you can set an internet filtering software to block any unwanted website from peer to peer network. You are also allowed to optimize the bandwidth usage with this software.

There are many ways to unblock a website in legal ways. Check out these steps we have suggested for both Mac as well as Windows users
